Over 1000 Bulgarians Experienced Virtual Reality for the First Time

August 12, 2016

Over 1000 Bulgarians had their first VR encounter during the first Bulgarian "Nights of virtual reality." The event was held at the CowOrKing Space by Puzl at 47 "Cherni vrah" blvd. on the 4th and 5th of August, participation was completely free.Attendees had the opportunity to try the most advanced technologies in the field of virtual reality - HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift, and Leap Motion. Due to extremely high demand, all demo spots were reserved online in less than 20-mintes after their release online several days before the event.

Given the unexpected influx, organisers managed to provide additional devices in order not to disappoint the dozens of enthusiasts who came without a reservation.

"We are very pleased to be able to demonstrate such a variety of experiences. For example: Samsung Gear VR transfers the users thousands of miles to mountain tops and buildings’ roofs in order to deal with their phobia of heights," said Krassimir Nikolov - founder of Quark VR and one of the event’s organizers. "With HTC Vive we showed even archery, drawing in space, and spaceship battles, all thanks to the device’s two infrared cameras and handheld controllers."

“Zagorka” provided free beer for all during those special moments of pure virtual reality pleasure, while “TaxiMe” took care of the comfortable trip to the event and back by offering a good discount to all new users of their handy application who used the promo code “QUARK VR”.

"We focus on the IT sector in Bulgaria and we believe that all events that contribute to the development of the technological community should be free," said Anton Stratiev, CowOrKing Space by Puzl co-founder.

Quark VR and CowOrKing Space by Puzl were supported by several well-known innovation-focused companies in their endevor to bring free virtual reality to all: Samsung Bulgaria, Zagorka, Chaos Group, TaxiMe, VR Express, VR City, Press Start and NEXT TV.

Due to the huge undying interest, event organizers promise to host similar demonstrations in near future, and also advise those who wish to participate in them to keep an eye on the event’s Facebook page.
